NEW MOON & WINTER SOLSTICE Drum Circle/Gongbath Ceremony with Esther Shapiro and Jere Friedman
You’re invited to join Esther Shapiro and Jere Friedman for this very special healing opportunity to use the energies of the December New Moon and the Winter Solstice to reconnect with what's really meaningful for you at this pivotal time of year. The New Moon is a time when we “reset” our energy for the coming month, and the Winter Solstice gives us an opportunity to look back at where we’ve been and set our course for the coming year. The Winter season gives us a much-needed fallow space in our lives for rest and introspection. As the daily period of sunlight gradually becomes longer, life marches gradually but ceaselessly towards the rebirth and flowering promise that comes with Spring. Each of us stands at a powerful turning point as we reflect and choose “what’s next” on our life’s journey.
In this ceremony you will be welcomed into a sacred circle of ceremony, rhythm, and vibration, where transformation unfolds naturally and connection becomes medicine. First, you'll be invited to participate in an energetic Drum Circle as Esther and Grandmother Drum lead you and others to create a powerful, unified spiritual force and sense of community. The collective rhythm and improvisation combine into a dynamic experience that blends physical movement with the creation of a shared soundscape, fostering connection and potentially inducing a meditative or trance-like state. No drumming experience or talent necessary! Drum circles are fun and enriching for novices and experienced drummers alike.
Then, lie back and relax as Jere plays gongs, singing bowls, and other instruments to activate the powerful Sonic Vortex, which will envelop your body, mind, and spirit in healing and energizing vibrations. Take your own personal journey to a deep level of rejuvenation, re-energization, and reconnection with your Authentic Self.

- Doors open at 6:30. Please arrive before 7:00 to visit with friends (some old, some new) and get settled. The program will begin promptly at 6:30.
- Feel free to stay afterwards for herbal tea and great conversation.
BRING YOUR DRUM IF YOU HAVE ONE. If you don’t have your own drum, Esther and Jere will have other drums, shakers, rattles, etc. available for you to use.
WEAR: Dress in layers and wear loose, comfortable clothing. As a courtesy to others, please refrain from wearing perfume, cologne, scented body lotion, or other body fragrances.

Esther Shapiro is a Shaman, Registered Nurse, Psychic Medium, Reflexologist, Holistic Nurse, Death Doula and Doctor of Metaphysics. She was awakened to her shamanic gifts in 2000 during a near-death experience, which changed the trajectory of her life. Although she still works as a nurse, her true gifts and passion lie in the native roots of her soul as she brings healing to others through a multitude of modalities and experiences but most especially through Love.
