About this Event

Creative Health Sandpit – Stage Two

Leeds Institute for Societal Futures invites you to take part in the second workshop in a series exploring the development of a new Masters programme in Creative Health, being developed in partnership with the Cultural Institute, which leads the Creative Health Futures network.

Creative Health is developing rapidly in Leeds, driven by a shared belief in the role of creative practice in improving health and wellbeing. Through strong NHS partnerships, one of the UK’s largest teaching hospitals, and a highly active cultural and civic ecosystem, Leeds is well placed to build an interdisciplinary community responding to local and regional health priorities. The Leeds Arts Health and Wellbeing Network will also play an important role in this work.

This workshop builds on a highly successful first sandpit and is open both to colleagues who participated previously and to those who expressed interest but could not attend. External partners will be invited at this stage, with student involvement planned for later phases of development. We welcome input from across Schools and professional services to help shape this work.

Workshop focus

This second-stage sandpit will move from idea generation towards shaping a coherent programme structure. Together, we will:

  • Develop an overarching curriculum architecture
  • Identify key themes that could become modules or elements of modules
  • Begin to articulate learning and skills outcomes
  • Allow an initial programme shape to emerge

We will explore potential aims, audiences and learner pathways, while continuing to articulate a distinctive intellectual, civic and institutional proposition for a University of Leeds Creative Health offer. As before, this will be a collaborative and exploratory workshop rather than detailed module design.

Time: Refreshments from 9.30am | Prompt start at 10am | Finish at 3pm
