“New Insights into the Drug Treatment of Obesity”
Professor Lora Heisler is Chair in Human Nutrition and Director of Research at the Rowett Institute, University of Aberdeen, where she leads research on obesity and food choice. Professor Lora Heisler’s lecture will present a clear overview of GLP-1 receptor agonists that promote weight loss, investigating short- and longer-term treatment, as well as drug withdrawal and underlying neurocircuit mechanisms in dietary-induced obese mice. Her research focuses on brain circuits regulating appetite, body weight, and glucose balance to identify new treatments for obesity and Type 2 diabetes.
