About this Event
New Headteachers (Sept 2025) are invited to join us for the full day. We will share important induction training in the morning, exploring key characteristics of spiritual church school leadership and core knowledge of the SIAMS expectations and Church School distinctiveness.
ALL buddies will then also be invited to join us for lunch and to share in a celebration in the afternoon. The Bishop will lead us in a short 'commissioning' offering their blessing on the important role undertaken by headteachers in Diocese of Bristol Schools.
OUTCOMES
- connect with colleagues also new to leadership in the Diocese
- to gain greater insights into what it means to be the Headteacher of a Church of England School
- reflect on the impact of Christian Distinctiveness (character) on the core purpose of education
- know what kind of spiritual leader you are and determine how to be an authentic Head of a Church of England School
- be equipped with strategies to lead and monitor the impact of Collective Worship
- understand the rubric of the SIAMS Inspection process and begin to be equipped to effectively lead your school through an inspection

1. Please note that bookings for this event will be on a first come first served basis.
2. Please confirm special dietary requirements at time of booking. If left blank, we assume there are no requirements.
3. A programme and information will be sent prior to the event.
4. CANCELLATION – In the event of cancellation, and if no other delegate can be sent as a replacement, the school may be liable to a cancellation charge as follows: Up to 8 weeks before event up to 50%; Less than 4 weeks before event up to 100% if we are unable to reallocate the room.
