Explorations: Artist Book Inspired by Map Folding TechniquesOne Day Workshop - September 24, 9:30 AM - 3 PM, $121

Map folding is a practical form of paper manipulation and can be applied to the artist's book with wonderful results. Participants in this workshop will first be introduced to map folding with historical models as a reference. Next they will practice a few map folds and then will apply their newfound knowledge to making their own artist's book. Students will take home a soft cover folded book with seven different map variations, all made using maps from Trisha's personal collection.
Please Bring With You:
-Pen and paper for note taking
-Pencil
-Ruler preferably metal 18"
-Scissors, x-acto knife
-Self-healing cutting mat or other suitable surface to avoid damaging the tables
-Glue stick
-Bone folder if you have one, or other tool appropriate for creasing paper such as a wooden spoon
About the Artist
Trisha Klus is a lettering and book artist specializing in calligraphy and hand bound artist’s books with explorations in collage, marbling, mail art and letterpress printing. She has currently been creating with a focus on interactive books.
