The Sleep That Wakes Us explores the fragile boundary between dreams and reality. Disruptively resilient, the series dissects recurring dreams and nightmares, confronting what keeps us awake while tracing the thread of reality that anchors the subconscious. Each painting renders the intangible immediate, inviting viewers to confront the landscapes of their own sleeping minds.
Working at the intersection of memory, emotion, and survival, Whittaker transforms private visions into shared psychological spaces—canvases that pulse with tension, vulnerability, and release. The exhibition asks not only what we dream, but what our dreams reveal about endurance, healing, and identity.
