Hosted by LCMS' Composer in Residence, Marcel Bergmann
We are inviting young composers to participate in the annual LCMS Young Composers’ Competition.
Composers will have the opportunity to work with the Rose Gellert String Quartet and other professional musicians during a workshop in which their pieces will be performed and critiqued by the musicians and a jury of prominent composers. Winning works will receive cash awards and a public performance.
Composers must be present for the workshop on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 1:00pm
Leonard Woods Memorial Awards will be awarded to the winners in each category.
CASH AWARDS:
Junior $200
Senior $300
College/University $500
Winning works will receive a public performance by the Rose Gellert String Quartet at the Canadian Music Festival Concert in November, 2026.
Audience very welcome to attend - no admission!
