Join Project Art Works and creative duo, Jill & Bea at Bethlem Gallery for a discussion on environments and co-creation in creative practice. The event will be in the format of a ‘Long table Discussion’, which invites a range of perspectives to a conversation exploring themes of agency, consent, and the adaptation of spaces to support meaningful and personalised artistic engagement.
This event is part of the programme accompanying , a residency and exhibition by Project Art Works at Bethlem Gallery and the National Autism Unit.

About (28 January – 7 February)
New Build invites visitors to experience an evolving environment shaped by the strengths and interests of those who have come before them. Supported sessions in the pop-up studio will provide opportunities for participants to express themselves on their own terms, contributing to a continuously developing installation.
The work at Bethlem Gallery runs in parallel with a closed residency at the National Autism Unit (NAU), where patients and staff will collaborate with the Project Art Works team. Through shared creative practice—exploring viscosity, colour, and texture—marks made in these wordless conversations will be re-presented within the gallery exhibition.
About Jill & Bea
Jill & Bea are a creative duo, working as one artist. Bea is an autistic young person, Jill is their mum and carer. They are part of Autistic Youth Hub, a collective of autistic young and similarly neurodivergent adults focused on creating supportive and inclusive environments of mutual respect and accountability.
About Project Art Works
Based in Hastings, Project Art Works collaborates with people with complex support needs, their families, and support networks. Their practice intersects art and care, responding to neurodivergence—its challenges, gifts, and impact. Through exhibitions, films, events, and direct support, Project Art Works challenges traditional paradigms of inclusion and representation.

About Bethlem Gallery events
Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Concessions are available for SLaM service users, people over 60, students, people receiving ESA, people registered disabled and their carers.
