This two-hour overview serves as an introduction San Mateo County safety and student services practice. The training supports new (and new-to-San Mateo County) administrators with enough information to start the year thoughtfully, allowing them to determine which full trainings to attend over the course of the year.
Tentative List of Topics:
- Meet the Safe & Supportive Schools team at the San Mateo County Office of Education - and new/new-to-SMC administrators like yourself!
- The Big Five Overview
- Behavioral Threat Assessment Management Overview
- Comprehensive School Safety Planning
- Attendance / SART / SARB services
- School Climate Supports (i.e. STOPit!, PBIS, TPYE, Squad, Restorative Practice)
- Supportive Student Programs (Foster Youth, McKinney Vento, YAASS)
- Overview of Additional Services/Training Options, like Safe Routes to School, Section 504, Site-Based Investigations, and CSEC / Human Trafficking.
