The May Networking With is happening on Tuesday, May 26th from 6 to 8 PM at the Centre (174 Douglas, Suite 201). 📣 Join SWC and Scott Florence from Sudbury Community Legal Clinic to learn more about sexual harassment in the workplace, your rights, and employer's responsibilities. Scott Florence is a community legal worker the Sudbury Community Legal Clinic on the Sexual Harassment in the Workplace Project, and is the executive director of the Sudbury Workers Education and Advocacy Centre. A licenced paralegal with a focus on employment law, labour law and human rights, he is a tireless champion of workers rights.
The sexual harassment in the workplace presentation provides participants with an understanding of both the legal and social side of the issue. Participants will learn more about sexual harassment, what it is and how it may manifest in the workplace. They will learn about their legal rights and their options to pursue justice if they are a victim of sexual harassment. We will discuss an employer’s obligations when a sexual harassment claim is brought forward in the workplace, and also discuss how to be an ally if you see sexual harassment in the workplace. 90 minutes with an opportunity for questions.
