About this Event
Are you a Producer, Director, Actor, or Writer? Are you looking to meet Producers, Directors, Actors and Writers? Then this event is for you.
No matter what career stage you are in, this event will help you meet people both outside and within your speciality. You will have the opportunity to meet new creatives for your next project, and even do a small test run to see how well you work otgheter!
The evening will have two main parts. The first part will follow the format of speed-networking, where you have the opportunity to share a bit about what you're working on, and what you're interested in, as well as hear about the other person. Don't worry if pitching yourself is something you struggle with - we will have plenty of questions or prompts so that you can speak about yourself in the best way possible!
The second part of the evening will include a small group exercise, where in small groups and following our guidance, you can quickly generate an idea for a production with the help of the writers, directors, producers, and actors in your group. The goal of this exercise is to see if you work well together before comitting to a full project, and to see if you might even generate an idea you want to take further!
We will provide many prompts and guidance, so don't worry if you've never come to a networking event. The evening will be inspiring and creative, and you're bound to leave with new connections, new ideas, and hopefully more confidence in yourself!
This event is run by Hey Thanks! Theatre Collective. We're a queer, women-led theatre company based in Edinburgh and London, programming community events and productions throughout the year. We believe that creation thrives with collaboration, and are passionate about fostering inclusive spaces where anyone can feel empowered to create.
