Please join us on Thursday, January 29th at the beautiful and classy LIBERTY HOTEL, which is one of our favorite venues that the group has been going to.... for almost 20 years now!It's located at 215 Charles St. by MGH/Mass Eye & Ear. The hotel is the former historic Charles Street Jail and has unique & spacious interior architecture that makes for a great setting in which to network. It's right across from the Red Line and is easy to find. Parking info is below.
While A.I. may be taking over, you still can't look it in the eye, shake its hand, and network with it! So... get out more and meet more folks in-person in 2026! :o) BGP is one of the friendliest gay networking groups in New England; you'll meet a lot of nice people from all walks of life for some good ol' fashioned face-to-face networking, conversation, and laughter. Come out and socialize with new friends & contacts.
The event starts at 6:30 and ends at about 9:00 (perhaps even a little later on a Thursday night!). You don't need to get there at 6:30, so please come by when you can. We'll be in Liberty's spacious and open mezzanine bar area, which is up the escalators and to the right as you enter. More info on the hotel is here (http://www.libertyhotel.com/).
PRICE:
Unless it's your first evening event, which is free (see below), the fee is $10 if paid in advance and is made when you RSVP via PAYPAL.
Meetup adds a separate $1.62 fee for itself (greedy bastards!), so the total will now be $11.62. Unfortunately, we can't waive this fee if you register through Meetup. BUT...
...if you don't want to pay it or don't like PayPal, you can save $1.62 and use VENMO to pay just $10 instead. Please contact Dan at [email protected] or message him through Meetup for more info on how to do this outside of the Meetup site.
There are NO REFUNDS, so please only RSVP if you're sure you can attend. If you have to cancel though, kindly change your RSVP.
If there's room after the event starts--and you can RSVP through Meetup until 6:30--you can still attend, but it will cost $15 (cash) at the door. No exceptions! So pre-payment is definitely less expensive.
IF IT'S YOUR FIRST EVENT: ATTENDING FOR FREE...
If you are new or have never been to an event, YOUR FIRST EVENT IS FREE. That way you can meet us and check out the group.
Meetup, however, won't allow you to RSVP without paying, so you must e-mail Dan at [email protected] or message him through Meetup to be put on the RSVP list--and please INCLUDE THE LINK TO YOUR BGP PROFILE so he can find you. And then be sure to come!
If you don't show and don't change your RSVP, that still counts as your first event and you'll have to pay for the next one. If you're a first-timer, please do NOT just show up at the event without contacting Dan or it will cost $15 to attend.
GETTING THERE BY T:
The T is the most convenient way to the Liberty. It's right across the street from the Charles St/MGH stop on the Red Line. You can't miss it!
PARKING:
For those driving, this can be a costly area for parking as options are limited. Parking at Liberty is expensive ($35 or more). But for those who don't mind walking several blocks, parking is much cheaper at the Gov't Center Garage or Pi Alley Garage on Washington Street. In addition, metered parking until 8:00 is sometimes available on Blossom St., which is 3 blocks away (where the Wyndham Hotel is) and is an easy walk over.
