This is a hand-building workshop. We will not be using the pottery wheel. This is a great workshop for anyone ages 16 and older. Great introduction to colored clay and how you can make some stunning work without the hassle of glazing too. Hand-Building with Nerikomi
-Create a beginner-level Nerikomi block or cane using the colored clays provided.
-Use your completed Nerikomi block to hand-build a dish.
-Engage in discussions about patterns, tools, and best practices for Nerikomi projects.
-Explore which types of projects pair well with Nerikomi blocks.
-Learn how to manage colored clay scraps to create additional projects, including laminating.
-Once the pieces are dry, they will undergo bisque firing, be glazed with a clear finish, and then receive a glaze firing.
