SPEAKERS AND SUBJECTS
Nazma Khatun is a Doctoral Researcher investigating the role of design in addressing healthcare challenges. She’ll be talking about how skin conditions in people of colour are often misdiagnosed, and how her research could help.
Designer, artist, creative director and London Nerd Nite veteran Lydia Thornley loves going down a research rabbit hole. For February’s Nerd Nite she’s burrowed deep into the subject of the Printer’s Fist - the pointing hand symbol - which has taken her into various nooks of knowledge, from dogs to the Domesday book.
Vicki Hird’s work as a consultant on sustainable food has inevitably led to a study of, and deep appreciation for, insects of all kinds. Her book “Rebugging the Planet” urges us all to love bugs. In this talk she explains why insects are worthy of both our care and our curiosity.
