Join us for our first ever Jhol Momo workshop with our host Rojisha.Jhol momo is an authentic Dish from Nepal, mainly meaning Momo or Dumplings in a sauce. The sauce is mildly warm and is prepared using sesame seeds, peanuts, soyabean seeds along with other regular ingredients.
Join Rojisha for an evening of gettings hands on, learning about the flavoring techniques of Nepalese Cuisine, learning how to make and shape Momo from scratch and tasting some other dishes from the country. Most importantly, you will be sharing the evening with more people with a similar interest and get to bond and make new friends over the beautiful activity of making dumplings.
Agenda:
18:00 – Meet at Utrecht in Rojisha’s home, wait for every participant to gather
18:10 – Introduction by Rojisha with Nepali Tea and snacks (popcorn)
18:30 – Interaction with each other, getting to know each other better
18:45 – Start the workshop (Rojisha will explain step by step process during the workshop)
20:15 – Serve Nepali dessert (Kheer – rice pudding)
21:00 – Conclude the program

About the host:
Hailing all the way from the Himalayan Region of South Asia—Nepal, Rojisha is passionate about cooking, as she loves the wafting aroma of spices and ingredients in her kitchen that bring her inherent joy and happiness. In her free time, she indulges in preparing varieties of Nepali food and sharing the recipe on her food blog.
In this workshop on Saturday, discover the authentic cooking technique, history, and evolution of one of the most delicious delicacies of Nepal—Himalayan dumplings, also locally called ‘Jhol Momo’. Together with other participants, dive into an adventure of bringing the ingredients together, learn dumpling folding skills, savour the dumplings, and make a good memory.
