Heritage Toolbox, a new programme of expert-led workshops for heritage, community, and cultural organisations in North East Lincolnshire.
About this Event

Join us for the first workshop in Heritage Toolbox: North East Lincolnshire, a new series of five free learning and networking sessions supporting heritage, community, and culture organisations across the region.

Commissioned by Create North East Lincolnshire and delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire and the Heritage Network, this programme brings together local and national organisations to share knowledge, build connections, and strengthen skills to support sustainable heritage and cultural activity in the region. The opening session focuses on setting your organisation or project up for long-term success.

Together we’ll explore the core building blocks needed to develop resilient, well-run heritage and cultural activity, from clarifying purpose and governance to understanding your local context and capacity. Whether you’re just starting out, or would value an opportunity to reflect on your organisation and how it works (or doesn’t work), this workshop will be shaped around supporting organisations in North East Lincolnshire whatever stage they’re at.

This session will also introduce the wider Heritage Toolbox programme, helping participants build connections and shape the cohort that will move through the workshops together.

What you’ll gain:

  • Practical, actionable learning about the core ingredients needed to make heritage, community, and cultural projects in North East Lincolnshire a success
  • Expert insights, case studies, and guest speakers from a range of projects, sites, and organisations, brought together by the UK’s Heritage Network and Heritage Lincolnshire .
  • A range of resources, recommendations, and 1:1 support from the Heritage Network and Heritage Lincolnshire teams, to help you take what you’ve learned and put it into action. This session will include a presentation on the resources available to you through Sector Support in North East Lincolnshire.
  • Time to reflect on your goals and priorities, in a supportive space where we can explore challenges, opportunities, and best practice.
  • Opportunities to connect with others working across North East Lincolnshire on projects like yours.

Who Is This Programme For:

Whether you’re managing a heritage site, driving forward a community project, or simply passionate about the region’s history, this is a valuable opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate. This programme has been designed especially for:

  • Not-for-profit heritage organisations and community groups
  • Cultural, creative, or community organisations who have found themselves working from historic buildings or spaces - where heritage might not have been part of your work, mission, or objectives so far
  • Staff teams, trustees, and volunteers
  • Heritage professionals and practitioners
  • People involved in caring for, managing or advocating for heritage in North East Lincolnshire

Build Skills, Connections and Confidence Across Five Free Workshops

To get the most out of the Heritage Toolbox programme, we encourage you to attend all five sessions. It’s fine if this means different colleagues attend different sessions, but we’ll aim to build a cohort of supportive practitioners who complete the programme together.

Our workshop programme is:

  • Workshop 1 – Setting Up for Success, Centre 4, Grimsby, 26th March
  • Workshop 2 – Building Inclusive Creative Communities, Grimsby, 15th April, venue to be confirmed
  • Workshop 3 – Fundraising for Organisational Sustainability, Cleethorpes Coastal Light Railway, Cleethorpes, 5th May
  • Workshop 4 – Digital Skills for Creative Working, Grimsby, 4th June, location to be confirmed
  • Workshop 5 – Running Impactful Projects, Cleethorpes, 8th July, location to be confirmed
