Meet key funders of heritage and community projects in NE Lincolnshire and find out how to fund your work successfully and sustainably.
About this Event

Fundraising is a vital part of delivering heritage and cultural activity. This third workshop in the Heritage Toolbox: North East Lincolnshire series focuses on fundraising for organisational sustainability, including an exclusive Meet the Funder session with key heritage funders including the National Lottery Heritage Fund.

Together we’ll explore a range of funding approaches, from grants and crowdfunding to earned income and partnerships, helping you identify realistic options for your organisation or project. We’ll help you write stronger, more successful funding bids, forge new relationships with key regional funders, and think about long-term sustainability.

Commissioned by Create North East Lincolnshire and delivered by Heritage Lincolnshire and the Heritage Network, the Heritage Toolbox: North East Lincolnshire programme brings together local and national organisations to share knowledge, build connections, and strengthen skills to support sustainable heritage and cultural activity in the region.

Drawing together the regional and national expertise of Heritage Lincolnshire, Heritage Network, and a range of speakers, this session will unlock key fundraising knowledge and help you develop a clearer, more strategic approach.

What this workshop will include:

  • An overview of different fundraising models and how they might work for your organisation, plus a guided activity to help you review or develop your own fundraising strategies.
  • An exclusive Meet the Funder session with key ‘people to know’ from the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other heritage, culture and community funders in North East Lincolnshire.
  • Practical tips and support for strengthening your funding applications.
  • Insight into building long-term financial resilience from a range of local and national case studies brought together by Heritage Lincolnshire and Heritage Network.
  • An opportunity to build a relationship with key funders and think about how to successfully pitch your projects to funders and decision makers.
  • A range of resources, recommendations, and 1:1 support from the Heritage Network and Heritage Lincolnshire teams, to help you take what you’ve learned and put it into action after the workshop

Who Is This Programme For:

Whether you’re managing a heritage site, driving forward a community project, or simply passionate about the region’s history, this is a valuable opportunity to learn, share, and collaborate. This programme has been designed especially for:

  • Not-for-profit heritage organisations and community groups
  • Cultural, creative, or community organisations who have found themselves working from historic buildings or spaces - where heritage might not have been part of your work, mission, or objectives so far
  • Staff teams, trustees, and volunteers
  • Heritage professionals and practitioners
  • People involved in caring for, managing or advocating for heritage in North East Lincolnshire

Build Skills, Connections and Confidence Across Five Free Workshops

To get the most out of the Heritage Toolbox programme, we encourage you to attend all five sessions. It’s fine if this means different colleagues attend different sessions, but we’ll aim to build a cohort of supportive practitioners who complete the programme together.

Our workshop programme is:

  • Workshop 1 – Setting Up for Success, Centre 4, Grimsby, 26th March
  • Workshop 2 – Building Inclusive Creative Communities, Grimsby, 15th April, venue to be confirmed
  • Workshop 3 – Fundraising for Organisational Sustainability, Cleethorpes Coastal Light Railway, Cleethorpes, 5th May
  • Workshop 4 – Digital Skills for Creative Working, Grimsby, 4th June, location to be confirmed
  • Workshop 5 – Running Impactful Projects, Cleethorpes, 8th July, location to be confirmed
