Cinema Under the Stars on Seminary Ridge is an outdoor summer program the Gettysburg Film Commission created to bring iconic, thought provoking, modern and classic films to the community. The films are screened on a 30 foot wide screen with a professional cinema package and sound system to give the audience a true cinematic experience.Audiences can bring lawn chairs, or a blanket, and enjoy live music and visit the food trucks before the movie begins. Our Co-host Jim Udden, film historian and professor at Gettysburg College will give a history on the studio system, actors, director, box-office and the societal impact of the film during that specific period, and take questions from the audience before each screening.
The program is part of our community outreach to entertain, educate, and develop relationships within the community. Cinema Under the Stars is also part of our fund
raising efforts to support the Gettysburg Film Commission. Our sponsorship levels for this program range from 500 to 10,000 dollars.
