Active Clubs NetworkGrants & Funding – Building Funding-Ready Sporting Clubs
Securing funding is a key part of keeping community sporting clubs active, accessible, and sustainable — but the grants process can often feel complex and overwhelming.
Session Four of the Active Clubs Network focuses on Grants & Funding, supporting sporting clubs to better understand funding opportunities and build confidence in preparing strong, realistic grant applications.
This session is designed to help clubs strengthen their funding readiness by understanding what funders are looking for and how to clearly communicate a club’s needs, goals, and community impact.
Participants will gain practical insights into:
• Understanding common grant types and funding opportunities
• Preparing clubs to be grant-ready before opportunities open
• Identifying and clearly describing community need and impact
• Strengthening project planning, budgeting, and supporting evidence
• Improving confidence in completing and submitting applications
As with all Active Clubs Network sessions, this workshop is:
• Beginner-friendly and jargon-free
• Practical and solution-focused
• Led by experienced facilitators
• Designed around real-world club challenges
This session is ideal for committee members, treasurers, volunteers, and club leaders involved in fundraising, grant applications, or long-term planning.
