NeighborSpace 2025 Open House

We’re excited to welcome back our gardeners and greet new members as we kick off another year of growing together.

This event is a great opportunity for both veteran and new gardeners to learn about NeighborSpace and how we support community gardens across Chicago. This year, we’re introducing something new—table discussions on important topics such as rat mitigation, know your rights, designing native and pollinator gardens, and more!

Adding to the excitement, we’re hosting this year’s Open House at a new location: Farm on Ogden. We look forward to seeing you there!

Come to pick up garden signs, locks, safety vest, and other necessities for the garden.

Lunch and refreshments will be provided.

Info: An introduction to NeighborSpace, including onboarding, the basics of our work, and an overview of fiscal sponsorship and grant fees. *This is highly recommended for NBSP garden veterans and newcomers.

Info: Protecting community gardens from legal and policy threats. Making green spaces inclusive for all. Led by Maria Herrera (Enlace), Lesly Lizbeth Zavala (Immigration Paralegal), Evan Hoffman (Drake Garden)

Info: Creating eco-friendly, biodiverse spaces. Led by Anita Johnson (71st and Crandon Garden) and Lucia Leon (EarthSeed).
