School is almost out, summer is almost here, and we’d love to kick it off together as neighbors. Join us for a casual evening at Beaverdale Park filled with hot dogs, yard games, conversation, and community connection for all ages.
This social is especially family-friendly, and with it being the night before many kids’ last day of school, we’re hoping for a fun and relaxed neighborhood celebration to welcome summer together.
🌭 Free Hot Dogs & Water
A huge thank you to Fareway for graciously co-hosting and sponsoring this event with free hot dogs and water for attendees!
We’ll provide the hot dogs, buns, and condiments, but we strongly encourage neighbors to “Bring Your Own…” to make the evening comfortable and fun for your crew.
Bring Your Own:
• Cooler with your group/family’s favorite drinks or snacks
• Blankets or lawn chairs
• Friends and family
• Outdoor toys or activities if you’d like!
🎯 Games & Activities for All Ages
We’ll have the Des Moines Parks & Recreation Party Pod trailer on-site filled with yard games and activities for neighbors of all ages to enjoy.
We’ll lead a few group games throughout the evening, but we also hope this is a relaxed space where neighbors can naturally mingle, connect, and play together.

To help us get a rough headcount for hot dogs, we’d really appreciate RSVPs on the Facebook event page and/or comments letting us know how many people you’re bringing.
🙋 Volunteer Help Needed
Want to help make the evening welcoming and smooth?
We’d especially love:
• A few “social butterflies” willing to help encourage neighbors to join games and meet each other
• 2–3 grillmasters and condiment station helpers
• A few people willing to help with setup 30 minutes before the event and/or cleanup afterward

FAQ
Can I bring my dog?
Sure! Friendly dogs are welcome as long as they are leashed, well-behaved, and you bring poop bags.
Can I invite friends or family who don’t live in Beaverdale?
Absolutely. While this is primarily a Beaverdale neighborhood event sponsored by the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association, guests are welcome.
Do I need to be a BNA member to attend?
Nope! These socials are intended to help neighbors connect and feel welcome. That said, BNA memberships do help make events like this possible, and we’d love to have you join if you’re interested.
Annual memberships are:
• $20 for individuals
• $40 for households/families
Most importantly, come as you are, bring a chair or blanket, and help us kick off summer together as neighbors. ☀️
