About this Event
Hadar Ahuvia is a dancer, choreographer, and Jewish ritual leader who will perform her latest work nefesh alongside Jesse Zaritt as a part of the Sukkot in The Neighborhood festival at the Ring Community Center at Luria Academy of Brooklyn. Join us to see Hadar and Jesse as they present new sections from Hadar’s ongoing project nefesh, exploring Ashkenazi prayer, its details and cosmology, and, in this new section, elements of astrology. Following the presentation, Hadar and Jesse will join us for a conversation in our artist-created Sukkah to discuss the piece, their process, and what it means to celebrate Sukkot in a time of despair. nefesh is presented by The Neighborhood: An Urban Center for Jewish Life and is supported by Center for Traditional Music and Dance, NYSCA, and Ruach Community Health.
