About this Event

Join the Neechi Clan Weekend Takeover!

This is a free, two-day Indigenous gaming, content creation, and esports experience led by Kai Potts and Shannon Baker, co-founders of Neechi Clan, alongside Tara Barnes, Founder of Thunderhaus and talent manager to Neechi Clan.

Hosted by Bow Valley College’s Digital Entertainment Nexus, this immersive weekend brings Indigenous youth and young adults, gamers, and creators together to build skills, explore career pathways, and connect with community in digital spaces.

Whether you're an aspiring streamer, competitive gamer, content creator, or simply curious about the world of esports - this weekend is for you!

Day 1: Level Up (Gaming + Content Creation Workshops)

Day 1 focuses on workshops in:

  • Streaming and content creation
  • Personal branding and digital presence
  • Esports pathways and industry insights
  • Entrepreneurship and creator strategy

Learn directly from Indigenous industry leaders who are actively building careers in esports, digital media, and brand development. Walk away with practical tools, mentorship, and a clearer understanding of how your passion for gaming or content creation can translate into real opportunities.

Spots for Day 1 are limited and registration will close once capacity is reached.

Day 2: Battleground Day (Esports Tournament)

Day 2 features an esports tournament and community event experience. Compete in titles such as Fortnite and Mario Kart, spectate live matches, or connect with other gamers while celebrating Indigenous representation in competitive gaming.

This is your chance to:

  • Test your skills in a live tournament setting
  • Experience esports production and broadcast environments
  • Meet other creators and gamers from across the community
