About this Event
Ned Stranger is a songwriter, storyteller and ‘unapologetic oversharer’. He grew up in south England, then moved to Cambridge to study law, then to London to grow his indie-folk band, August and After, securing millions of listens in countries around the world.
In 2022 he moved to Vienna, performing at various Sofar Sounds, appearing at Volkstheater’s much-loved True Story Nights, and speaking at a TedX conference. His concerts are as much about the stories of the songs as the songs themselves, characteristics for their openness and humour.
His melodies are woven with intricate classical guitar and piano, with lyrics inspired by his love of books and his polyamorous lifestyle, exploring themes both on a macro and micro scale: from jealousy, identity and legacy, to his favourite 19th century French mathematician.
