Advait Phadke (santoor)
Advait Phadke has been learning santoor from Dr. Dhananjay Daithankar for 11 years and is currently a student at the University of Texas. He secured the first place in Maharashtra Mandal Bay Area’s Chaitradhun music competition twice and the OSAAT’s (One School at a Time) Vaadya Vaahini music competition.
Over the years, he has performed solo at Maharashtra Mandal Bay Area’s Art Festival (2023) in California, at Dr. Daithankar’s Guru Purnima programme in Pune in 2024, a santoor recital in Intonation Foundation’s Ustad Amir Khan Festival (2025) in California, at Kala Darpan in Texas and for SPIC MACAY at the University of Texas in Austin.
Dr. Shashank Maktedar (khayal)
Dr. Shashank Maktedar belongs to the rich traditions of Gwalior, Jaipur and Agra gharanas and has had the privilege of getting his taleem from Ulhas Kashalkar, with whom he learnt for nine years in the traditional guru-shishya parampara at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. A Grade ‘A’ artiste of All India Radion, Dr. Maktedar has received numerous awards, including the Aditya Vikram Birla Kalakiran. He has had the opportunity to showcase his talent at platforms such as Sawai Gandharv Mahotsav in Pune, Vishnu Digambar Jayanti Samaroh in Delhi and ITC Sangeet Sammelan at Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Bengaluru. He has also performed in the US, UK, France, Switzerland and Dubai.
Dr. Maktedar has completed his doctorate degree in music from Pune University. Currently, he works as the principal of Goa College of Music in Panaji.
