Dr. Atindra Sarvadikar started his musical journey at the age of five under the guidance of his mother, Vrinda Sarvadikar. Over the years, he has trained under various gurus including Dattusingh Gaherwar and Dr. Prabha Atre. Dr. Sarvadikar earned his PhD for the topic ‘किराणा घराण्यातील बदलत्या प्रवाहांचा विश्लेषणात्मक अभ्यास’ (An Analytical Study of Evolving Trends within the Kirana Gharana) making it the first doctorate in music from the University of Mumbai in 2016. Currently, he also serves as Assistant Professor in the Department of Music at the University of Mumbai.
Over the years, Dr. Sarvadikar has won several awards including the Balgandharva Sanman instituted by Siddha Patil Foundation, Solapur, in 2023, the national-level Baba Allauddin Khan Smriti Samman by Baba Allauddin Khan Music Foundation Delhi in 2020, the Pramilabai Deshpande Memorial Music Award 2022, among others. Besides music, he has also authored books such as RaagMudra – A Book of Compositions, किराणा: घराणे परंपरा आणि प्रवाह, the English translation of his research and more.
Soumitra Thakur (sitar)

Initiated into the world of music at the age of four, Soumitra Thakur learnt sitar in the Bishnupur style from his uncle, Prashanta Thakur. Later, he was privileged to be guided by the renowned vocalist Rashid Khan, who taught him to bring in the intricacies of vocal music into his sitar idiom. At present, he trains with Kushal Das from the Maihar gharana. A Grade ‘A’ artiste of All India Radio, Thakur is a recipient of many prestigious awards and accolades, including the NCPA-Citi scholarship (2021), Balshree Award (Presidentʼs Award) for Creative Performance (2009), Junior and Senior scholarships from the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, in 2007 and 2014 respectively, and many more. He has performed widely at home and overseas.
