At an early age, Akul Panchal was exposed to Hindustani music by his father Nayan Panchal from whom he started learning the basics. Panchal has continued his training in the harmonium, along with understanding the nuances of Hindustani raga sangeet and allied forms from Sudhir Nayak under the ‘NCPA Citi Support to Gurus’ programme. Panchal has received numerous awards through his participation in many competitions, including the second rank in the All India University Youth Festival 2023. He is also fast becoming an accomplished accompanist to several vocalists and tabla players.
Deblina Ray, an Indian classical vocalist, specialising in khayal, has been a recipient of the 2018-19 NCPA Citi Scholarship for Young Musicians. She has been a disciple of Ram Prasad Ray for 18 years and is currently receiving guidance from Dr. Asit De in khayal form and from Suranjana Bose in semi-classical music. She has secured the first rank in All India Radio’s (AIR) Music Competition in the khayal stream among other accolades. Ray has also received scholarships from the Ministry of Culture in Delhi and has performed at notable platforms in India and Bangladesh.
