Join Wake County 4-H and NC SciFest for a fun, family-friendly evening celebrating Dark Sky Week!
Bring your friends and family for a night of hands-on activities, stories, science, and stargazing. This interactive event is designed for families and youth to explore the wonders of the night sky while learning about light pollution and why protecting dark skies matters.
We’ll begin at the Agriculture Building with activity stations and crafts, then enjoy a sunset walk through the woods to Historic Oak View Park, where we’ll observe the night sky and use a telescope to look for stars and constellations.
What to Expect:
- Interactive science and craft stations
- Space and rocket-themed learning activities
- StoryWalk experience
- Night sky observation with telescopes
Come prepared to learn, create, explore, and share your knowledge of the night sky!
Important Information:
- This is a family event. Youth must attend with a parent/guardian unless they have their own transportation.
- Activities begin at the Agriculture Building and include a guided walk to Oak View Park.
- Please wear comfortable shoes and bring weather-appropriate clothing.
- Bring your telescope or other stargazing equipment if you have it!
