About this Event
🌿 First Workshop: Gathering, Connection & Creating with the Landscape
We will begin with a mindful 45-minute walk around The Naze and along the shoreline (tide depending), taking time to slow down, observe, and connect with this unique and ever-changing landscape.
As we walk, you’ll be invited to gently collect natural elements that speak to you — from weathered grasses and gorse, to textures shaped by ancient trees, traces of local history, footprints in the sand, shark teeth, and shoreline debris. Each found piece becomes part of your personal visual language.
Back in the workshop space, you will begin to create an individual piece of artwork or a collective family piece that weaves together the environment of the Naze with your own creative journey and vision. You’ll explore how to place your materials on the page, thinking about composition, storytelling, and intention — what feels important to include, and what you choose to leave out.
Using the natural elements of this landscape, alongside sunlight and water — both constant and transformative forces here, shaping the very cliff face of the Naze — you will create a piece that reflects your connection to place.
This workshop is an opportunity to slow down, observe deeply, and respond creatively, resulting in a personal artwork to treasure — one that captures your experience and relationship with the beautiful, shifting landscape of the Naze.
£21 per ticket.  Suitable for compete beginners.
Facilities at The Naze include café, shop, toilets, disabled toilets, baby changing and car park (fees apply).
