This event is free of charge and open to both members and non-members. We encourage you to bring a friend or colleague who could benefit from all we have to offer. Our Fall Membership Drive runs from September 1 through October 30, and we’d love to welcome you into our growing community.

1. What is NAWBO?

The National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO) is the unified voice of more than 11.6 million women-owned businesses across the United States, representing the fastest-growing segment of the U.S. economy.

Founded in 1975, NAWBO is the only dues-based organization that represents women entrepreneurs across all industries and business sizes, with chapters located nationwide. With powerful advocacy, unmatched resources, and a vibrant network, NAWBO empowers women business owners to grow, lead, and thrive economically, socially, and politically.

At NAWBO Richmond, our mission is to:

• Strengthen the wealth-creating capacity of our members and promote economic development
• Create innovative and effective changes in the business culture
• Build strategic alliances, coalitions, and affiliations
• Transform public policy and influence opinion

2. Who Can Join?

NAWBO membership is open to individuals who meet all of the following criteria:

1. Are women or identify as women
2. Own an equity interest and actively participate in a business, as a sole proprietor, active partner, LLC member, independent contractor, or a 5%+ shareholder in a corporation
3. Support and subscribe to the mission and vision of NAWBO
4. File an IRS Schedule C or F, receive IRS Form 1099s from clients, or file corporate/LLC/partnership tax returns
5. Maintain an office or workspace (including a home office)
