Running a business is rewarding, and it can also be a lot to carry on your own. That is why we gather every month, over a real meal, in a room full of women who get it. Whether you are a longtime NAWBO member or joining us for the very first time, you belong here.
✨ A Year Worth Celebrating: Honoring Our Wins, Welcoming What's Next
What a year. Before we break for July and come back together in August, we're pausing to do what we so rarely make time for as business owners — look around the room and actually celebrate what we've built together.
This June luncheon is part celebration, part look-ahead, and entirely about the women who make NAWBO Austin what it is. We're honoring our recognition as a NAWBO Chapter of Excellence once again — a reflection of the leadership, generosity, and showing-up so many of you have poured into this community over the past year.
We're also thrilled to welcome Crystal Mancilla, Mayor of Liberty Hill, who will officially induct our 2026–2027 NAWBO Austin Leadership Team. Mayor Mancilla is one of the women leading Central Texas from inside public service, and we're grateful to have her with us.
Fireside Chat: Advocacy in Action
After the induction, our Advocacy Chair Heather Emerson sits down with Mayor Mancilla for a fireside chat on what advocacy actually looks like for women business owners — locally and beyond. Heather is joining us fresh off NAWBO's Advocacy Day in Washington, D.C., and she'll share what she heard, what's on the table for women-owned businesses right now, and how our voices translate into real policy movement.
Expect real conversation, honest takeaways, and a clearer sense of how the work happening in city halls and on Capitol Hill connects to your business.
Here's what the program looks like:
- Awards — Leadership team-voted award + President's Choice Award
- Recognition of Outgoing Leadership — Honoring the women who carried us through this Chapter of Excellence year
- Induction Ceremony — Mayor Crystal Mancilla swears in our 2026–2027 NAWBO Austin Leadership Team
- Fireside Chat — Heather Emerson and Mayor Mancilla on advocacy in action
- Member Feedback: — Open table conversations about NAWBO's future and what you want to see next year
What you'll take away:
- A clearer picture of the issues shaping the landscape for women-owned businesses, locally and nationally
- A practical sense of how advocacy works — and accessible ways to plug in that fit a business owner's schedule
- A real voice in shaping where NAWBO Austin goes next — what you share at your table goes straight into planning the year ahead
- The kind of reconnection that reminds you why we keep showing up for each other
