Come join us at Kadena Marina Thanksgiving weekend for an introduction to dragon boating! There's no better way to use all that turkey-fueled energy than to pick up a paddle and try out this truly unique sport!Absolutely NO EXPERIENCE is necessary—that’s what these paddle clinics are designed for! You'll learn a little about our team and get your toes wet (figuratively and literally!) in a hands-on introduction to the sport of dragon boat racing in Okinawa!
Open to all women 18+ with ANY DoD/DoDEA affiliation! If you are looking to experience Okinawa in a super unique and fun way, check us out! You'll get an incredibly unique glance at Okinawa's culture while making friends with your fellow teammates, and getting a great workout in!
What you should bring to the clinic:
- A water bottle
- Sturdy water shoes (felt-bottoms or hard-soled sandals like Chacos are preferred to protect from potential critters in the Marina) or tennis shoes you don't mind getting wet
- Wear pants or shorts you don't mind getting wet (most ladies wear leggings)
- A towel to dry off with afterwards
- Optional: Gardening or work gloves with grips to help grip the paddles
- A great attitude to learn and have fun!!

Official tryouts for the team begin on Tuesday, February 4th at 0430-0545 at Kadena Marina and will continue on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays for the following three weeks!
