About this Event
Since 2017, the University of Salford has been leading a significant longitudinal project funded by the Forces in Mind Trust (FiMT) called Sanctions, Support and Service Leavers. The project represents the first, and only, substantive research to provide an understanding of veterans’ experiences of navigating the UK social security benefits system.
This event brings together the findings from across this substantive programme of research, providing an opportunity to hear the project findings and recommendations, to celebrate the impact of the project, and to discuss how to collaboratively ensure that veterans remain supported in their interactions with the benefits system. The event will include a response from Sir Stephen Timms, Minister of State (Department for Work and Pensions).
The event is free to attend, but registration is essential for access to the House of Lords. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided. The event will be hosted in the Cholmondeley Room.
