Join us for an engaging artist talk and reading with Mississauga's 6th Poet Laureate Sneha Subramanian Kanta.
This session invites you into the full journey of creating a poetry collection, from the first spark of an idea to the reality of a published book. Drawing from her latest collection Hiraeth, Sneha will share a transparent and thoughtful look at the writing process, exploring how themes of heritage, ecology, and displacement are shaped into a cohesive body of work.
Blending reflection with practical insight, this talk moves beyond theory to explore what it really means to build a sustainable creative practice. Sneha will speak to the “process to product” journey, offering guidance on refining your craft, navigating international publication, and developing your voice as a writer.
The session will include a live reading of her work, followed by a Q&A, giving audiences the chance to dive deeper into the realities of a writing life.
Whether you’re an emerging writer, an experienced creative, or simply curious about the making of literary work, this is a space to learn, reflect, and be inspired.
This is a PWYC (Pay What You Can) event, suggested donation $10.
