East Midlands Social Enterprise Network Event: sector insights, funding pathways, CIC case study, and interactive discussion.
About this Event

Join us for an insightful and practical networking event focused on the current state of the social enterprise sector — with a specific East Midlands lens.

Drawing on the latest findings from Social Enterprise UK’s State of the Sector survey, our guest speaker, Melanie Mills from Good Finance, will explore key national headlines and what they mean for organisations operating and trading locally. We’ll look at the challenges social enterprises are facing, emerging opportunities, and how organisations across the region are responding.

The session will then turn to practical support and solutions, including:

  • Strengthening financial resilience
  • Exploring funding options and finding the right investors
  • How to take your trustees and board on the journey with you
  • Learning from peers and building collaborative networks

There will also be an interactive element for attendees to share their current worries, concerns, and burning issues.

We’ll also hear from Claire Clements, founder of Positive Pants, who will share an honest and inspiring case study of her journey to establishing her CIC. Claire will talk through the realities of starting up, the challenges she has navigated, and the different ways her organisation is creating meaningful social impact. From vision to delivery, this session will offer practical insights, lived experience, and lessons for anyone building or growing a purpose-driven organisation.

This event is ideal for:

  • Social enterprise leaders and trustees
  • CIC founders
  • Charity managers
  • Community project leads
  • Anyone interested in sustainable and impact-driven business in the East Midlands

As always, this is a welcoming and supportive space to connect, learn and grow alongside others working to create positive change.

We’re also inviting attendees to send us a digital poster about their organisation ahead of the event. We’ll showcase these after the talks to highlight the fantastic work happening across our network.

There will also be an opportunity for everyone to briefly introduce themselves and share what they do, making this a genuinely collaborative and connected session.

Spaces are limited — book early to secure your place.
