For POC's who are seeking to develop their capacity (attitude, behavior, knowledge, skills, and understanding) for realizing their goals
About this Event

Join us for Navigating Racist Spaces, Stories, and Systems (October Event)!

Join us for a three part workshop series geared towards engaging in conversations about racism and how to navigate those experiences so you can reach your personal and professional aspirations/goals. Led by Dr. Sharon Knight, you can expect to engage in meaningful, multicultural, multidimensional, and healing conversations. This workshop is for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC).

This event is hosted by Kevin Baker of Baker Consulting.

Purpose:

The purpose of this culturally responsive engagement is to provide culturally responsive and equity-driven support for People of Color (POC) who are seeking to develop their capacity (attitude, behavior, knowledge, skills, and understanding) for realizing their personal and professional aspirations/goals.

Goal:

Through historical sharing and critical conversations, guide participants through culturally responsive lived-experiences that appreciate, recognize, and encompass the ways of POC ancestors and that uplift and move forward pro-POC ways of being and knowing.

Outcomes:

During the pursuit of their personal and professional aspirations, when experiencing racism, using culturally responsive ways, POC participants routinely draw from the strengths of their ancestors to identify and acknowledge that they are experiencing racism, constructively address racist practices, cope effectively with everyday racism, heal from internalized oppression/racism, and/or intentionally manage the adverse impacts of race-based trauma.
