During birth trauma week, The Hood would like to honour midwives & birth workers, who traverse the challenging path of being side by side with women & families when birth doesn’t go to plan. We want to acknowledge and give visibility to the midwives/birth workers who experience and are affected by traumatic birth events & outcomes they support in the birthing space.If you are a birth worker or midwife (student midwives welcome) please join us for a cup filling evening, where we explore what birth trauma looks and feels like for the care provider, explore ways to recognise & identify the body’s response to birthing events, as well as a small share circle using truth mandala ritual. The event will include an opportunity to create an essential oil roller as part of your self care practice and close with a sound bowl healing.
This event is designed to hold space for the midwives & birth workers who hold space for women. We invite you to honour the sacred work you do, and take time to fill your own cup, so you can continue to support and hold the birthing women of our local community.
