Naviar Records is excited to go back to Poznań for a second haiku and music event.As always, we'll start the event with an introductory workshop to haiku poetry, followed by performances of members and friends of Naviar.

Haiku Workshop (2-4 PM) (free, signup required)
Take your first steps into the world of haiku. We’ll analyze the rules for writing a haiku and its structure, how to add a kigo (seasonal reference) and kireji (cutting word). We’ll read and analyze haiku, as well as write our own poems.
The workshop will be hosted by Irena Iris Szewczyk.
Irena Iris Szewczyk (born July 16, 1966, Warsaw, Poland), philologist with a degree in Hungarian studies, photographer, and haiku and haiga poet.
She has been active on the Shiki, European, Indian, and Caribbean online kukai and published her work in Polish, English, French, and Japanese online and print publications since 2011.
Her haiku have been recognized in international haiku contests, notably those of the Haiku International Association and The Mainichi. She holds the title of Master Haiga Artist from the Japan-based World Haiku Association and was included among the European Top 100 most creative haiku authors from 2011 through 2016.
Her bilingual book of poems, photographs, and haiga titled drugi brzeg: haiku (the other shore: haiku) was published in 2022. Szewczyk blogs at Iris Haiku, where she presents versions of her haikai in English, French, Polish, and Hungarian. She was a founding member of the Polish Haiku Association and formerly served on its board. She lives in Warsaw, Poland.

Jeff studied Javanese and Balinese gamelan and theories of Partch and Xenakis. Working with dance/theater/butoh co. Djalma Primordial Science. More than 400 concerts throughout Europe since 2005.

German producer vheissu77 has been an avid musician since 1992, playing the keyboards in various bands for decades. In 2019, he shifted his focus to creating electronic music, diving deeper into the craft.
The pandemic led him to rediscover his passion for ambient music, and he released his first solo album, Musik Vom Berg, in 2020. He's been highly prolific ever since, also drawing inspiration from the Naviar Haiku challenges, which he started joining in 2022. 2024 marks a new chapter as he began to perform his own music live.
Wanja Olten

Wanja's music explores the subconscious, the unspeakable, and the poetic.
Born in Northern Hessia in 1973, Wanja Olten has been immersed in music since childhood, starting with piano and drums. After studying design at HfG Offenbach in 1996, he stayed active in music, working with indie-bands and creating music for children from 2002 to 2010.
In 2016, Wanja began a solo journey, building an analogue studio and later blending digital elements into his sound. By 2024, he embraced a more productive phase, combining these two sonic worlds.
