Nava Dance ImmersionLisbon, Portugal- June 26-28
Weekend immersion into the essence of the Nava Dance format. We will open the day with Nava Movement —a newer modality that weaves somatic wisdom with the core practices of Nava Dance, bringing heightened awareness to breath, sensation, and embodied presence.
We will also explore traditional Central Asian dance roots, with focus on the Tajik dance styles that have deeply imprinted on the aesthetic form of Nava Dance.
We will practice the art of sacred circle dance and explore the importance of the circle as a healing ritual embodiment passed down through generations. In the circle, we look into each other's eyes; we become equal and allow ourselves to dissolve into the greater whole, remembering our essential unity. Together we create a living representation of the circle of life—the cycles of time, the sun, the moon, the cosmos, and the movements of nature.
*This weekend is geared towards dancers with some training in Nava or other dance forms.
Schedule of Workshops:
Friday- 7:00-10:00- Turning Towards the Heart (open to all)
Saturday- 10:30-1:30 (11:30-12:30- Nava Movement/12:45-2:45- Nava Dance Format) 16:00-18:30- Tajik Dance Choreography
Sunday- 10:30- 1:30- (10:30-11:30- Nava Movement/11:45-1:45- Nava Dance Format) 16:00-18:30- In the Sacred Circle of Dance (Nava Dance Choreography)
Price: Entire weekend (includes Friday night)- 275 Euro (early bird until May 15th) /325 Euro (after May 15th) Turning Towards the Heart (if taken separately) (early) 40 Euro (at the door) 50 Euro
