Welcome to the Natyamandala Charity Classical Indian Dance Showcase at Yale!
Come join us for an enchanting evening of classical Indian dance at Mary Harkness Auditorium, in the Yale School of Medicine. Immerse yourself in the beauty and grace of traditional Indian dance forms performed by talented artists and students from Yale-affiliated Natyamandala organization and other schools in the community. From Bharatanatyam from the South to Kathak of the North, experience the rich cultural heritage of India through captivating performances.
Witness the intricate footwork, expressive gestures, and vibrant costumes that make classical Indian dance so mesmerizing. Whether you're a seasoned dance enthusiast or new to the art form, this showcase promises to be a feast for the senses.
This show will be performed by students of all ages as well as professional dancers of Bharatanatyam, Kathak, Mohiniattam. Many dancers are Yale affiliates who dance as part of the Natyamandala organization at Yale. All proceeds will go to New Reach CT, which is a local charity that ensures that homelessness is rare, brief and one time (newreachct.org). This event brings together members of Yale and the wider Connecticut community toward a vision of shared future. Participating dance schools include Natyamandala, Sumbhav School of Kathak, Natyanjali School of Dance, Omkaar Nrityalayam, Vedakala Center---all locally from Connecticut!
