What do you do if you were the kid who loved ladybugs, tadpoles, snakes, and hummingbirds? What if your woodland walks are really rambles because you keep stopping to notice something new—a flicker of movement, an unfamiliar call, the delicate shape of a leaf?Join Mary Jo Flemming for an engaging presentation on nature journaling, a simple yet powerful practice that sharpens observation, encourages curiosity, and deepens our connection to the natural world. No artistic talent is required—just a willingness to slow down and pay attention.
With a background in biology and education, Mary Jo has spent a lifetime exploring and teaching about the outdoors. Inspired early on by a mother who loved birds and wildflowers, she developed a deep appreciation for nature that continues to grow. In retirement, she has embraced nature journaling as a way to combine her interests in birds, writing, and native landscaping.
You will leave with practical tips to get started and the reassurance that nature journaling is for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned naturalist or simply someone who enjoys being outside, this practice offers a meaningful way to engage with the world around you.
Be warned: nature journaling can be wonderfully addictive.
