Join this regular nature journaling get-together at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre on the last Friday afternoon of each month (except public holidays). These informal sessions are a great opportunity to take some time out, relax, and connect creatively with nature.
Bookings required via Eventbrite.
Cost: Free.
Age: These regular monthly Friday events are for adults.
Arrival time: Please arrive 5 minutes early to check-in with centre staff.
What to expect:
After some warm-ups and a short introduction for beginners, participants can take their nature journals out into the field for practice and inspiration. You might decide to explore and find your own quiet sit-spot, or journal at the picnic shelter. Staff will be on hand to help with flora and fauna I.D., share some journaling techniques, and chat about points of interest in the reserve. Everyone meets back at the shelter for a chat and farewell to finish up.
Requirements and what to bring:
- Please bring your own basic sketch/art pad. All other materials supplied.
- Wear sun-safe clothing and secure, fully enclosed walking shoes.
- Bring water and a snack if required as there are no food outlets on site.
- Bring a lightweight outdoor chair if you'd like to use one (or keep it in the car for backup seating if required).
- Please arrive 5 minutes early for sign-on.
Cancellations: If circumstances change and you cannot attend, please cancel your tickets promptly via Eventbrite, so others can secure a place at this free event.
Meeting point: Picnic shelter near the basketball court at Downfall Creek Bushland Centre. Chat to our friendly centre staff if you need directions.
Public toilets: located at the environment centre.
Carparking: Free visitor parking. If the carpark is full, park in nearby Raven Street.
Note: This activity will go ahead in light rain and can be adpated to deliver indoors if required. Events are subject to weather and environmental conditions and may be cancelled on the day.
