Learn to nature journal with Alex, embarking on a journey of curiosity and creativity through the seasons. This is a fantastic opportunity to have fun, learn new things and get creative. Why not learn scientific names, folklore or life cycles and migratory patterns to add to your nature journal. Try out sketching, collage, water colour paint or water colour pencils to create beautiful artwork of birds, botanicals and insects. There really is no rules, you don't need to be an artist, this is perfect for any level.
We begin with a short guided walk around part of the reserve to find inspiration, explore the subtle changes of the seasons and learn how to ID flora and fauna along the way. A camera or smart phone with camera capability is a handy tool to bring along.
In the warmth of the our meeting room, Alex will show you how to nature journal using different techniques and materials with a selection of equipment and art supplies provided. A small sketchbook is provided for each attendee to take home and Alex will bring along a selection of art materials for you to use and reference books. If you'd like to bring along your own sketchbook or art materials please feel welcome to use your own supplies. Alex will also provide some handy 'step-by-step' guides and useful tips and information to take home with you.
You're welcome to book tickets for enthusiastic teenagers, all under 18's must be accompanied by an adult ticket holder.
Come along as a 'one off' or join us each month as we journey throughout the year observing nature.
