About this Event
Nature Doodling and Button Making with Chris and Moe!
The very first time this has been offered! Join these two enthusiastic nature nerds for a fun fascinating and fulfilling nature hike up the "horse shoe loop" to the top of the trail! Once we get to the top we will spread out with provided mini clip boards, and one inch circle paper for nature doodling! We will have some colored pencils and markers but we strongly encourage you to bring your own traveling art supplies! We will Doodle for 22 minutes (They are very small drawings!). We will take these one inch masterpieces back down through the Harding Nature Trail back to parking lot Q where we turn your Picassos into one inch buttons to be worn everywhere! Included in your ticket purchase is one 1” button with your drawing on them. We will have lots of extra button materials if you would like to press extra buttons (3$ each for these please)*
*We will complete everyone’s first button before we move on to second purchases, we want to be fair! Patience is a key here! We will be Making the buttons under the oak trees so another nature bathing moment is here as well!🍀💚 Each Button takes about 1 minute to make.
This special event will be hosted by California Naturalists Chris and Moe from the acclaimed podcast "State of The State Parks." Whether you're a seasoned birder or just looking to learn about bugs, this tour is the perfect opportunity to ground in the great outdoors together. We will be looking for Birds, Galls, Fungi, Lichen, Mosses, Bugs, Wild Flowers (no Picking!) and anything else we can find and talk about! Be sure to download the free apps iNaturalist and Merlin Bird ID, as we will be using these digital tools to help us learn what we are seeing and hearing !
No Dogs on this one so we don’t scare the birds away! Kids are welcome but this is a chill event so no drinks before hand haha!
Bring you binoculars, hand lenses, art supplies, cameras, a towel to sit on or a way to make your self comfortable for the nature doodling session.
NO DOGS: For this wildlife focused experience, we kindly ask that dogs be left at home. Thank you.
