About this Event
This is a visit for anyone over the age of 65 and their carer. Nature Connections activities have a big impact on the physical and mental health of the people in our community. Last year alone over four hundred people enjoyed the benefit of the nature based experience offered at Kingswood Trust. Our woodlands and paths through nature and historical features such as World War 2 Air Raid Shelters are all part of the Nature Connections experience. These environments and features help to stimulate memories, allowing someone living with dementia to participate in the day.
Their carers gain some respite too by enjoying a short walk themselves and conversation with others. We have outdoor seating, craft materials and games, supporting older people to walk further, rest and chat together and participate with others.
This is a fully funded project so it's all free of charge right down to the hot cuppa and biscuit served from Woody's Snack Stop.
