About this Event
Calling parents, carers, grandparents, aunties, uncles and, of course, young ones!
If you want to spend more quality time outdoors, learning about and enjoying the natural world together as a family, we have some games, practices and skills to inspire and encourage you. We will tap into timeless and universal human passions for investigating mysteries, hiding, searching, sneaking, chasing, collecting, creating and inventing.
Day 3: Belonging to the Earth is all about the knowledge and skills to survive and thrive here on planet Earth.
We will:
- Make debris shelters
- Try out different techniques to purify water
- Forage for food, fibre and fire
- Try traditional methods and tools to make fire
- And finish up with a fireside story circle!
This program is designed for families with children aged 8 to 14. Younger siblings are welcome to come along, but will need close supervision and guidance to ensure appropriate behaviour.
