About this Event

Nature connected organisations and teams recognise, value, and nurture close relationships with nature.

They are committed to fostering strong human-nature relationships, and to the protection and restoration of nature. While organisations may recognise the multiple threats arising from a broken human-nature relationship, and work to mitigate the effects of this, it is just as important that they recognise their potential to bring positive change into the world by taking steps to heal that relationship. (From the Nature Connected Organisations Handbook, University of Derby.)

The team behind Dudley People's School for Climate Justice (people from Dudley CVS, CoLab Dudley, Ekho Collective CIC and Workshop 24) have been experimenting with all kinds of ways to invite nature connection in all kinds of spaces around Dudley borough. From ponds to High Streets, woodlands to town centres.

This is an invitation to a embark on or deepen your own learning and doing journey around nature connection in your organisation, supported by an open peer learning community.

Anyone can bring ideas, resources to share, challenges to work through with peers, showcase successes and more. We can make use of great tools to help us turn our aspirations into action, testing and experimenting in small, safe ways. This peer learning community will convene seasonally and will be a space which encourages creativity and experimentation.

Nature connected organisations and teams is hosted by Time Rebel Lorna Prescott, a member of the CoLab Dudley team and Dudley CVS officer. As host of this peer learning community, Lorna will create rhythms (regular, consistent times to meet) and rituals (such as reflection time) to help hold us together.
We want to make these sessions as inclusive and accessible as possible so please let Lorna know how you can be made to feel welcome. While our main CoLab Dudley space is all on street level, unfortunately the toilet is only accessible via a steep flight of stairs. If this would make it difficult for you to join in, please let Lorna know and we will do our best to find another venue.
