About this Event
Nature and Forest Therapy Walks: Forest therapy walks are based on the practice of forest bathing (or shinrin-yoku). It is a mindfulness, embodiment and nature-connection practice that originated in Japan and has spread around the world. The name refers to bathing yourself in the forest atmosphere through all of your senses. Fortunately, participants won’t need to go into water to forest bathe! Instead, participants will focus on what they can see, hear, smell, touch and taste.
Who Should Attend: Forest Therapy Walks are accessible and suitable for the general public. Groups of 5-10 participants are ideal. Children over the age of 5 years are welcome.
What to Expect: During the walk, participants will receive a series of invitations to encourage them to slow down, get out of their heads and into their bodies. The guide will take participants on a short and slow walk to help them to connect with nature and themselves. After a forest therapy walk participants may will feel more relaxed, less stressed and more in touch with the natural world within and around them. Nature and forest therapy walks are 2.5-3 hours.
