Georgia's coast is home to seven spectacular National Wildlife Refuges. Join us to hear from Matthew Emmer, President of Friends of the Savannah Coastal Wildlife Refuges. He’ll provide an overview of the importance of each refuge and how they fit into the ongoing conversation around the importance of public lands. Participants will also learn more about how the organization helps to preserve, protect, and promote the seven refuges. You’ll hear about the challenges these protected spaces face, opportunities for public learning and interaction, and the vital roles they play across our 100 miles.
Doors open at 6:30 pm at our Savannah office (1702 Bull St., Savannah). The lecture begins at 7 pm, with Q&A to follow. Light refreshments will be served. This event is free, but we ask that you RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
We will also livestream the event via Facebook; please tune in and participate virtually if you can't make it in person!
