Enjoy a cozy afternoon on the farm and gather with your community to sip hot chocolate, horchata or tea while learning to weave, twist, and tie natural farm items like pine cones, holly, and branches of evergreen into a festive delight for your home celebrations this holiday season.
Using natural or reusable wire wreath forms, participants will design and create their own natural wreaths to display indoors or outdoors at home. When spring returns, forms can be cleared off, materials composted. Wreath forms can be used again and again to create seasonal wreaths.
Interdisciplinary artist and WFCF Director of Education & Community Engagement, Jessica Herwick, will share the vast history of wreaths across cultures, cool facts about the natural materials collected from the farm, and assist participants in making a unique design incorporating the gifts nature provides to bring joy during the dark months of winter.
Participants are welcome to clip select evergreens from the woodland border along the farm and add to provided greens. Limited hand tools provided. BYO hand gloves, tools, and gathering bags if you’d like to forage.
All materials provided to create our designs are 100% compostable and/or 100% reusable.
Feel free to bring your own additions for your wreaths but leave the plastic at home, please. Ticket covers the cost of wooden, metal, and other natural materials to adorn your greenery.
All levels of experience are welcome! This workshop offers instruction for all levels of nature crafters.
This workshop is family friendly and open to adults or adult groups. All ages are welcome. (Youth 17 and younger must be accompanied by an adult but can register to make their own wreath)
Group Tickets Available in the registration for families or groups of friends who would like to work together to complete ONE WREATH at ONE STATION as a team.
ONE PERSON purchases ONE TICKET for your group. You will be provided a station for your group to work on one wreath together. Recommended for groups of 4 or less. Do not add additional attendees or you will be charged another ticket fee. One person registers and receives communications for your group.
PLEASE ATTEND DRESSED TO BE OUTDOORS IN CHILLY WEATHER!
